  • Payments

    We upload invoices in the student account. A student can pay wit card using the student account or make a wire transfer from a bank account.

  • Buying online lessons

    Lessons can be purchases at discounts in convenient packs. A new student should start with purchasing the 5, 10, or 25 lessons pack. The free trial session will be provided in the beginning of the course.

    Please make the initial purchase at Costs for Online Russian Courses.

    After the initially purchased lessons are completed, further lessons can be purchased as required through the student’s account at students.learnrussianineu.com.

  • Mode of instruction

    All instruction is fully synchronous and happens in real time at scheduled days/times.

  • Lesson schedule

    Learn Russian in the EU is based in Daugavpils, Latvia (UTC+2 time zone) and works extended hours from 8:00 to 22:00 local time.

    In the application form, the student specifies her/his time zone and preferred lesson time options. We will consider this information when preparing class schedules.

    Students receives the schedule through their student accounts. The schedule includes lesson dates and times in the student’s local time and Zoom links for connecting with the teacher.

    In case a new student receives the first schedule, it starts with the free trial session.

    As a rule, we re-adjust schedules weekly. The schedule for the upcoming week is prepared in the end of the previous week and is made available through the student account.

  • Lesson duration

    The lesson duration is 45 minutes. As a rule, lessons start on the top of the hour.
    The free trial session is 30 minutes.

  • Free trial session in the beginning of the course

    The free trial session is provided to new students in the beginning of the course. It helps the student and Learn Russian in the EU clarify the student’s current language level, discuss and finalize the course content, and test out all aspects of online language learning with us before we get on with the program.

    For example, if the course starts with a 10 lessons purchase, the student will get the free trial session and 10 lessons.

  • Registering for a Russian language individual online course

    The registration for a Russian language individual online course includes several steps:

    1. First of all, please submit the course application form:
    1. Please complete the Russian language placement test, if you are not an absolute beginner.
    2. Please make the initial purchase at Costs for Online Russian Courses.
    3. Upon receiving the application form and the placement test, we will set up your student account and send you the login details.
    4. You will use the student account at students.learnrussianineu.com to see the date/time of the trial session, lesson schedule, and Zoom links for connecting with the teacher.
    5. On the date/time of your trial session, please connect with the teacher in Zoom. During this session, you and the teacher will clarify your current language level, discuss and finalize your course content, and test out all aspects of online language learning with us before we get on with the program.
    6. If you are satisfied with the free trial session and decide to start the course, please follow the schedule. Otherwise, please notify us by e-mail about your cancellation of the course and request a refund.
  • What technology is in use

    Of course, your device should be equipped with a camera, microphone and audio output (speakers, headset).

    We highly recommend using a desktop computer, a laptop, or a tablet for remote lessons. Using a smartphone is less convenient and may worsen your learning experience.

    Learn Russian in the EU uses Zoom as the online teaching platform. Before starting the lessons, please sign up for a free Basic account in Zoom and install the Zoom application

  • Russian language placement test

    If you are an absolute beginner, the placement test is not required.

    After submitting the registration form, please complete the Russian language placement test in order to provide our teachers information on your actual skills level.

    The placement test requires 30 minutes to complete.

  • Our teachers

    All our teachers are passionate, experienced and knowledgeable native Russian language speakers. They possess Master or PhD degree in the Russian language pedagogy, Russian linguistics, or Russian literature. Many our language teachers are fluent English speakers.

    We employ Daugavpils University professors, who have worked with numerous international students on Learn Russian in the EU study abroad programs.
