Study options for Boren and FLAS scholars

Boren Awards
For U.S. undergraduate or graduate students, the Boren Awards fund the intensive study of language and culture abroad. All eligible applicants have the option to select/design their own study program.
Learn Russian in the EU has extensive experience in planning and implementing custom study programs for Boren Scholars and Fellows. Our programs always include a serious language component in an immersive environment. Boren Fellows can also pursue research relevant to their degrees, include additional academic coursework in the target language.
We recommend Boren Awards applicants contact Learn Russian in the EU at the early stage of their application preparation. Together, we can discuss and plan a highly customized study program matching Boren requirements. These programs may include standard components, like a semester or summer program, combined with a variety of individually selected courses.
